Bayern Munich’s Mark van Bommel Linked with Manchester City Move

Bayern Munich midfielder Mark van Bommel has been linked with a surprise switch to Manchester City. The Dutchman is believed to be available from the Bundesliga giants for the right price, and the future direction his career will take is not known. The 33-year-old is thought to favour one more big challenge before he hangs up his boots however.

Also tracking the Holland captain are City’s Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven, who will attempt to persuade the midfielder to return home for his swansong.

Van Bommel has vast experience as a midfield enforcer and it is this which is believed to have attracted City boss Roberto Mancini to the idea of slotting him into his Eastlands side.
