Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has accepted that the side’s second place finish in their Champions League group could have set them up for a tough draw in the last 16. The Gunners managed to beat Partizan Belgrade 3-1 at the Emirates last night, but with Shakhtar Donetsk beating Braga, it was not enough to knock the Ukrainian giants off top spot.

Now Arsenal could even meet Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Schalke, or perhaps Barcelona, the competition favourites. Yet Wenger insists Arsenal will have to take whatever they are handed.

"Barcelona are super favourites in this competition at the moment, but we take what we get", said Wenger. "If it is Barcelona, it is Barcelona. We played them last year, we will see."

Arsenal went out to Barcelona last season in the quarter-finals and, should they be paired with La Liga’s champions in the Round of 16, few would back The Gunners to come out on top.
