Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Samuel Eto’o according to reports from Spain. Los Blancos are looking to add another striker to their squad in the January transfer window and have been rumoured to be tracking several players, with Eto’o the latest name to have emerged.

According to El Mundo Deportivo, Jose Mourinho, who worked with Eto’o at Inter last season, believes that the Cameroon striker could, were he available, be the perfect addition. The Inter forward has great experience of La Liga, have turned out for Mallorca and Barcelona between 2000 and 2009. And Real Madrid is familiar to the striker too, as Los Blancos was where Eto’o began his professional career, playing for the Spanish giants between 1997 and 2000.

Real Madrid need to add another striker to their squad following injury to Gonzalo Higuain which should rule to Argentine out for at least two months. Frenchman Karim Benzema is expected to enjoy a greater role in Higuain’s absence, but the feeling persists that Mourinho does not yet trust the former Lyon star 100 per cent.
