Benfica striker Javier Saviola is determined not to dwell on his side’s exit from the Champions League and will instead channel his efforts in to winning the Europa League.

The Portuguese giants dropped down to Europe’s second tier competition after finishing third in a group containing Lyon, Schalke and Hapoel Tel-Aviv.

"Reaching the final is our goal"
, explained Saviola about the Europa League, while accepting that "there are many strong teams" involved in the competition.

And Saviola believes that despite Benfica producing some reasonable performances at the Estadio da Luz, it was a lack of consistency which cost them their Champions League spot.

"At home we did all right, while away we lacked consistency. It is perhaps why we went out of the Champions League."
