Tottenham Hotspur defender Sebastien Bassong has warned his team-mates that Chelsea must still be considered favourites when the two clubs meet at White Hart Lane this afternoon and could be ready to wake up from their poor form.

Spurs have the chance to move to within one point of Chelsea if they can see off Carlo Ancelotti’s side this afternoon and a victory for Harry Redknapp’s men would plunge the Stamford Bridge outfit further into crisis. With games against Manchester United and Arsenal to come afterwards, a loss at Spurs could be the beginning of the end for the Italian.

But Bassong is warning his team-mates not to consider themselves favourites in the clash.

"The favourite, it is Chelsea", said the defender. "Beware the wounded animal who can wake up anytime. Hopefully she will sleep against us."

Bassong did go on however to say that "at home, nobody scares me" and Spurs have indeed shown that on their day they are capable of beating anyone this season.
