Manchester United have rewarded Brazilian midfielder Anderson with a new deal in recognition of his outstanding recent form. The Brazilian has inked a four and a half year contract extension at Old Trafford, to keep him at the Premier League giants until 2015.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was in no doubt that securing Anderson’s signature on a new contract was undoubtedly a positive move.

"We are delighted he has signed a new contract", Ferguson told MUTV. "Anderson has developed tremendously since joining us and he has fantastic potential at only 22; he is going to be a really top player."

The Brazilian also confirmed his pleasure at having committed his long term future to the club, stating that he feels United "the best club to be at" and he is looking forward to "winning many more trophies with United and I am so pleased to have signed a new contract."
