Villarreal and Arsenal are reported to have joined Juventus in the chase for Freiburg striker Papiss Cisse. The Senegalese hit-man has been in top form for his Bundesliga side this season, finding the back of the net at very regular intervals.
Under contract until 2014, Cisse’s agent has already said that he cannot conceive of a situation where his client would exit Freiburg in the January transfer window, having only joined the Germans the previous January. A move at the end of the season appears a more definite possibility though, with Cisse continuing to show the kind of form which suggests he would flourish in a much finer team.
Cisse has already scored 13 goals this season, in just 16 Bundesliga games, and can be counted as the main reason that Freiburg find themselves in the lofty position of fifth in the league.
