After sacking Rafael Benitez yesterday, Inter have begun their search for a new coach. Yet the man tipped to slip into the Nerazzurri hot seat by the Italian press, former AC Milan coach Leonardo, has stayed tight-lipped over reports he is set to take the job.

"The only thing I can say today is Merry Christmas to all", said Leonardo when challenged by reporters over whether he would become the new Inter boss. The Brazilian added: "I know less than you."

Nevertheless, it is thought an agreement between Leonardo and Inter is not too far off, with the former Milan boss being first choice to guide the Nerazzurri through to the end of a difficult season and, most importantly of all, ensure Champions League football for the blue and black half of the San Siro next season.
