Malaga Strengthen by Snapping Up Martin Demichelis from Bayern Munich

Argentine defender Martin Demichelis is bidding farewell to Bayern Munich in the January transfer window. The 30-year-old has agreed a deal to move to Spain and link up with Manuel Pellegrini at Malaga.

"It’s done", said Demichelis to Bild. "I said my goodbyes at the door. I spent seven unforgettable years here."

Bayern Munich are the defender’s only European club to date, with Demichelis having turned out for River Plate before making the move from his homeland. Malaga, battling relegation in La Liga, and coached by the former Real Madrid man Pellegrini, will hope he can help to plug a defence which has been far too leaky this season.
