Turkish giants Galatasaray are ready to try and tempt Lukas Podolski to swap the Bundesliga for the Super Lig. The Istanbul side want to add more firepower to their squad in the January transfer window and are aware that Podolski has not had the smoothest of returns to his hometown club 1.FC Koln.

The former Bayern Munich striker has struggled to find the net with regularity at Koln and whispers suggest he may well be available and willing to move if the price is right. Galatasaray, who dispensed with the services of Frank Rijkaard earlier this season following a poor showing in the Super Lig, think a bid of about €6M may be enough to land Podolski.

Galatasaray boss Gheorghe Hagi is known to want to strengthen his squad in the winter window and he would surely welcome the arrival of Podolski at the Turk Telecom Arena.
