Barcelona have officially announced the arrival of Dutch midfielder Ibrahim Afellay. The 24-year-old arrives from PSV Eindhoven and has inked a four and a half year deal at the Camp Nou.
Afellay’s contract with the Dutch giants was coming to an end this summer and given his determination to seek pastures new, Barcelona were able to pick him up for just €3M.
The Dutch international has had a buyout clause of €100M inserted into his contract and Barcelona believe he will be a big addition to their La Liga and Champions League chasing squad. The Catalan side also confirmed that they plan no further arrivals in the January transfer window.
