Liverpool have been linked with a surprise swoop for Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko. The Bosnian has already said that he feels it unlikely his Bundesliga club will consent to his departure in January, but there have been whispers from Germany that a big offer for the player could tempt Wolfsburg to change that stance.

Roy Hodgson is reportedly prepared to offer both Danish defender Daniel Agger and Dutch forward Ryan Babel to Wolfsburg in exchange for Dzeko. Hodgson has already gone on record as stating he feels Liverpool need to add to their striking options and he hopes to see the Anfield side back him in the January transfer window.

Should Wolfsburg give any hint however that Dzeko is available, and the Germans turned down a €25M offer from Real Madrid at the start of December, then Juventus and Los Blancos are expected to firmly push their case and rival the Premier League club.
