Juventus look to be out of the running for Edin Dzeko, leaving the field open for Manchester City to complete a deal for the Bosnian hitman. Dzeko has long been on record as stating that if he left his German club Wolfsburg he would prefer it to be for Serie A, and the striker has been linked at regular intervals over the past two years with both Juventus and AC Milan.

However, with Milan well-stocked for strikers, Juventus appeared the most likely to rival City for the player’s signature. But, the Old Lady have so far refused to get involved in what is looking a done deal between Wolfsburg and the Premier League side.

Dzeko is expected to cost City between €30-35M, with the Bosnian himself commanding a salary of some €7M per year at Eastlands. Roberto Mancini will hope to conclude the deal quickly, being well aware of the ongoing transfer sagas which have developed between Wolfsburg and Dzeko in recent seasons.
