Arsenal could well loan Carlos Vela to a Spanish club this month. Reports from Spain suggest that the Mexican could soon pitch his tent at either Deportivo La Coruna or Espanyol as Arsene Wenger seeks to give the forward more playing time.

Vela has experience of Spanish football, with Arsenal having already loaned the 21-year-old to Salamanca for the 2006/07 campaign and Osasuna for the 2007/08 season. He also holds a Spanish passport, which makes him more attractive to La Liga sides, as he does not fill an allotted non-EU spot.

Another club who could be interested in Vela is Chievo Verona. The Serie A side are looking to add to their squad in January and may be ready to rival Deportivo and Espanyol for the player’s signature.
