Aston Villa are still keen on Lyon midfielder Jean Makoun, despite having an initial approach rebuffed by the Ligue 1 side. Villa boss Gerard Houllier, who has a good relationship with officials at the French club, due to having managed them between 2005 and 2007, is still confident the Cameroonian can be snared though.
Makoun has stated his willingness to consider a move away from the Stade Gerland and Houllier believes the former Lille player would add bite and energy to his Villa midfield.
According to French source Le Progress, Lyon would accept an offer of €10M for Makoun, and send him on his way to England. Whether Villa are prepared to pay that amount for the 27-year-old however, remains to be seen.
