Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has revealed that his ambition for this season is to lift the Champions League, a trophy which has so far eluded Roman Abramovich’s side.

While Lampard stated that Chelsea should always aim to win the Premier League, he believes that the Champions League is something special, and would be the icing on the cake of every trophy they have won in the past few years.

"It would be the icing on the cake for our fans", said Lampard to Chelsea TV

"You always think about the league, winning the Premier League is a requirement, but the Champions League is another matter. It would be just reward for our fans."

Lampard did admit however that, like any side, to win Europe’s top trophy, "we need luck".
