Valencia are stepping up their pursuit of Lorient striker Kevin Gameiro, but are likely to have to wait until the end of the season to sign the Frenchman.
Los Che recently confirmed they have signed Lille’s highly rated young defender Adil Rami, but the youngster will spend the rest of the campaign on loan with his former club.
Any thoughts of snapping up Gameiro to go with the capture of Rami before January ends though, must be put on hold, with Lorient’s president keen to stress that while the club will entertain offers for their highly rated striker, they will not do so this month.
"No bid has been received for either Kevin or another player", said Loic Fery to L’Equipe. "One thing is certain: there will not be an exit this winter. Afterwards? I never said that no player was not transferable. If a club makes an offer we cannot refuse…."
