Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that the club’s title hopes are fading following yet another defeat. The Italian, who had said before the game that he felt "lucky" to still be in a job after Chelsea’s run of poor form, saw his side fail again, losing 1-0 to Wolves.

Just one goal after six minutes, via Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa knocking a Wolves corner into his own net proved enough to hand Mick McCarthy’s side all three points. Chelsea did put pressure on the home side, coming close through Saloman Kalou, while Didier Drogba hit the upright. But they could not find the breakthrough.

"It’s very difficult to win [the Premier League title] but the most important thing is to come back and play football, to fight and move on", said Ancelotti.

"It’s another defeat, our moment is not so good and it is a difficult moment", he added.

But the Italian does not fear for his job at Stamford Bridge and insists that he feels "my position is solid at the moment."

Chelsea next face Ipswich in the FA Cup and will be glad of the break from Premier League action.
