Catalan giants FC Barcelona are helping out a former old boy by sending highly rated young midfielder Marti Riverola to join Albert Ferrer’s Dutch side Vitesse.

The 19-year-old, who has most recently been starring for Barcelona’s B team, will join the Arnhem based side on loan for the remainder of the season.

Ferrer has vowed to create a "little Barcelona" at the Eredivisie side in what is his first step into management. The former Barcelona right back is bankrolled by Georgian businessman Merab Jordania at Vitesse, and the Dutch club hope to become a major power in Holland.

The Spanish boss also asked about Thiago Alcantara, another jewel of Barcelona’s B team. However, Ferrer was denied the chance to sign the midfielder as he was informed Pep Guardiola has plans for the 19-year-old in the Camp Nou club’s senior side.
