Bayer Leverkusen keeper Rene Adler has admitted that a move to Manchester United would represent something of a dream.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford next summer as a replacement for the retiring Edwin van der Sar. And it appears to be something the German would welcome.

"Everyone knows about my United dream", admitted Adler to German daily Bild. "I have a clause in my contract which allows me to leave if I called Bayer about [Sir Alex] Ferguson."

Adler missed out on travelling to last summer’s World Cup through injury, but continues to be seen as one of Germany’s finest goalkeepers. Such a signing would no doubt go a long way towards addressing United fans’ concerns for their future choice between the sticks when Van der Sar hangs up his gloves.
