Inter President Massimo Moratti has said that he does not believe the Nerazzurri will sign Udinese’s impressive winger-cum-forward Alexis Sanchez, leaving the path clear for Manchester United to pursue the Chilean.

Sanchez has put in some impressive displays in Serie A for the southern Italian team and also starred at last summer’s World Cup with his national team. Inter were expected to rival Manchester United in the summer for the exciting 22-year-old, but according to Moratti, this will not be the case.

"A possibility to sign Sanchez?" said Moratti when questioned on the subject, "I don’t think so."

Reports from Italy had suggested earlier this month that United had edged ahead of Inter in the race for Sanchez, and Moratti’s admission that he does not believe the Milan side will sign the Chilean would suggest the player is one step closer to Old Trafford.
