Galatasaray have emerged as a possible destination for Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia.

The Spaniard is slipping down the pecking order at the Emirates and, at the age of 33 and having been at the club since 2004, looks unlikely to convince Arsene Wenger to once again make him Arsenal’s number 1.

Almunia has been attracting some attention from his homeland, with several Spanish clubs suggested as possible destinations, but Galatasaray could well trump them all.

The Turkish side believe Almunia’s experience, particularly in European competition, would stand them in good stead for next season. A move to the Istanbul giants will appeal to the goalkeeper, offering him the opportunity to continue playing for a "big club".
