Despite Bordeaux’s interest in his services, Djibril Cisse has declared that he is happy to remain at his current club Panathinaikos. The Frenchman is under contract with the Athens side until 2013 and his signature was considered quite a coup by the Greens.

"It is flattering that a big team like Bordeaux are interested in me", said Cisse when told of the Ligue 1 side’s interest, "but today I consider myself a player of Panathinaikos."

Cisse also said he does not see himself leaving Greece and is instead focused on helping the club to be successful this season.

"I do not think I’ll go and I will give everything to achieve our goals this season in Greece."

Panathinaikos have their work cut out in clawing back a five-point gap between themselves and first placed Olympiacos in the Greek Super League, and at present look unlikely league champions however.
