Bayern Munich striker Miroslav Klose has showered praise on Real Madrid as speculation continues to link the Spanish giants with a move for the 33-year-old.

Pressure has increased within the Bernabeu for the club’s president Florentino Perez to sanction the signing of a striker, even just on a six-month loan deal, following the injury which should keep Gonzalo Higuain sidelined until the end of the season – even if the Argentine does return for this campaign it is likely to be in May.

And Klose’s name has been suggested as a possibility, along with Manchester City’s Emmanuel Adebayor.

"I talked to my agent about Real Madrid’s interest in me, but so far there has been no real contact with them", explained Klose.

"For the moment, I take it just as market rumours, partly because my contract expires next June. Of course, Real are a legendary team and thanks to Jose Mourinho are on the right path. For me it would be the maximum [honour] to wear that shirt. I could never refuse an offer.."
