Monaco could move to bring former player Jerome Rothen back to the club following an admission from new coach Laurent Banide that he rates the winger highly.

Rothen is currently out of contract, having been released by Paris Saint-Germain last year. The 32-year-old fell out of favour in Paris from 2009 and subsequently had loan spells with Scottish side Rangers and Turkish club Ankaragucu.

Banide has revealed that Rothen’s name is on a list of players he is considering trying to sign, but the new coach has not yet decided upon who to approach.

The Monaco boss did state though that Rothen "has talent, is a left footer, that’s important."
