Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp believes that if anyone deserved to win yesterday’s Premier League clash against Manchester United then it was his team. Spurs and United played out an eventful 0-0 draw at White Hart Lane, with the visitors losing defender Rafael to a second yellow card, meaning Redknapp’s men faced ten men for the last 15 minutes.

"Chances were few and far between, but I felt we edged the game", said Redknapp to his club’s official site. "If anyone was going to win it, we looked the more likely, without creating too many clear-cut chances."

But Redknapp also hailed United’s defence, pinpointing it as a real reason that Spurs failed to breach Sir Alex Ferguson’s side’s backline.

"The two centre-halves are fantastic with [Patrice] Evra, [Edwin] van der Sar, they’ve won the Champions League with that team, they are difficult to break down and difficult to beat. We had a real go at it and we couldn’t have been more open when they went down to 10 men."
