Chelsea are believed to be ready to barge their way into the race for Lazio’s Romanian defender Stefan Radu.
The 24-year-old has impressed in Serie A this season, leading to speculation that he would soon emerge as a target for the biggest clubs in the land. Indeed, Juventus especially are known to be tracking the defender very closely.
Interest from Chelsea though is being taken seriously, and Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti has been alerted to Radu’s qualities by his network of contacts in his home country. While any move for Radu looks unlikely in the current transfer window, Ancelotti could be ready to battle Serie A sides in the summer.
Lazio for their part are keen to hold on to the Romanian they bought in 2008 from Dinamo Bucharest, but will most probably deal for the right price.
