Reports from Catalan daily Sport suggest that Jose Mourinho may have a special clause in his contract which allows him to walk away from Real Madrid without any compensation being due to the Spanish giants.

However, the clause also gives Los Blancos the right to terminate Mourinho’s contract without having to pay the Portuguese coach a penny.

Mourinho has been at loggerheads with the Madrid hierarchy in the past few weeks over the club’s inability to add another striker to his squad. The former Inter boss complained in the summer that the squad was too weak up front without the addition of another frontman, but none arrived.

And still, despite chatter linking Ruud van Nistelrooy, Emmanuel Adebayor, Miroslav Klose and several others with a move to the Bernabeu, nothing has materialised.

If reports of the special clause are true, then the chances of Mourinho making a sensational summer exit from Real Madrid are much higher than previously thought.
