Liverpool target Eljero Elia has played down the possibility he could leave his current club Hamburg, insisting that he remains 100% committed to the Bundesliga side.

Elia has been the subject of much interest in recent months, particularly from the Premier League side, who were believed to be bombarding Hamburg with bids for the Dutch winger at the beginning of the month.

However, Elia is still at the Imtech Arena and, with Hamburg set to lose Ruud van Nistelrooy to Real Madrid, has reassured the club’s fans that he will not follow his countryman out of the Bundesliga side.

"I’m 100% for HSV", Elia told Hamburg’s website, adding: "I still want this team to achieve something."

Hamburg lie sixth in the Bundesliga, a huge 16 points behind league leaders Borussia Dortmund. A Champions League spot though is very much within reach, with second placed Hannover just four points ahead of Elia’s side.
