Bundesliga side Hoffenheim quickly followed up their capture of Ryan Babel from Liverpool by completing a deal for Edson Braafheid. The 27-year-old left back arrives from Bayern Munich, though how much the village club have paid for his services is unknown.

Braafheid struggled to make much of an impression at the Allianz Arena, having being signed by Louis van Gaal in 2009 from FC Twente. For the second half of last season the Dutchman was loaned to Scottish giants Celtic, though no permanent deal materialised.

At Hoffenheim, Braafheid will link up with countryman Ryan Babel who joins from Liverpool. The Bundesliga side will hope the duo can discover their best form and shoot the club up the table – Hoffenheim are currently eighth.
