Bundesliga side Hannover have been given a boost with the news that coach Mirko Slomka has extended his deal with the club until 2013.

Slomka, a former Schalke boss, has led Hannover to a superb campaign thus far and the side sit third in the league table at present. Dreams of qualifying for the Champions League are very much alive at the AWD-Arena and much of the praise must go to Slomka.

Last season Hannover finished a lowly 15th in the league and could have been expected to enjoy a similar campaign, but the 43-year-old has masterminded their rise and will now stay in the dugout until at least 2013.
