Following the termination of his contract with Bundesliga side Stuttgart, Mauro Camoranesi is interesting Roma. The 34-year-old struggled to cement a spot in the starting eleven at Stuttgart and both parties felt a parting of the ways was beneficial.

The former Juventus schemer has been linked with moves to Brescia and Real Zaragoza, but now Roma have emerged as a shock possible destination.

Roma boss Claudio Ranieri is believed to think the addition of Camoranesi would give his squad a real boost, allowing Jeremy Menez and Mirko Vucinic to have the occasional rest – and on a free transfer the signing comes with very little risk.

Also ready to sign Camoranesi are River Plate. Should the midfielder, who was born in Argentina, want to quit Europe and return to his homeland, River Plate would welcome him with open arms.
