Liverpool and Ajax have met once again for further negotiations to discuss the potential move of Luis Suarez, but still the two parties appear unable to find common ground.

While Liverpool’s initial offer of €15M for the Uruguayan was rejected, and though the Reds are prepared to nudge that higher, closer to €20M, they are still nowhere near the €30M that Ajax believe Suarez is worth.

The Dutch club want the Premier League side to move much closer to their position within the next day or so. Ajax coach Frank de Boer has already stated that he does not expect his striker to be sold on transfer deadline day as the Eredivisie club themselves need time to bring in a replacement.

Therefore, the next 24 hours will be crucial to determining whether Liverpool are able to get their man or continue to baulk at Ajax’s asking price.
