West Ham United are keen to snap up striker Robbie Keane from Tottenham Hotspur and their chairman David Gold has vowed to do all he can to make the deal happen.

The Hammers have already signed Senegal hitman Demba Ba from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in this current transfer window and there appears an appreciation at Upton Park that the club must splash the cash in order to survive in the Premier League.

"He is clearly available and quality players rarely are", said Gold of Keane. "Our people will go the extra mile to try to bring in players that otherwise you wouldn’t get if you didn’t pursue. Robbie Keane is a player we greatly admire. We see him as a potential acquisition."
