Montpellier are looking to beat the transfer window by snapping up Japanese winger Daisuke Matsui from fellow French club Grenoble.
The winger has often struggled to show his best at Grenoble and spent 2010 on loan to Russian club Tom Tomsk, now though he could be set to stay in France, albeit with Montpellier.
Montpellier are hoping to beat an as yet unknown Japanese club to the signature of the 29-year-old. Matsui would follow John Utaka in signing for the south coast club and, Montpellier hope, provide their Ligue 1 campaign with a boost.
