Lyon star Yoann Gourcuff has admitted that he is struggling for any kind of consistency in his performances this season, but has vowed to do all he can to address the problem.

Gourcuff, along with the entire Lyon side, had a poor start to the Ligue 1 season, but have since picked up and can now be considered right in the middle of the title race. However, as Gourcuff has put in the odd good display, his campaign has also been littered with below-par performances that have come as a surprise for a player of his ability.

"I’m  disappointed and frustrated because I can do better", said Gourcuff. "There is no continuity in my performances. When I did some interesting things this Autumn, I never managed to move on.

"There was my injury, my poor form. Then we play in a different style from that of Bordeaux [Gourcuff’s former club ed.], in a tactical plan that suits me a little less."

But despite admitting he had no explanation for his poor form, the midfielder vowed to work hard to improve.

"I have no explanation. If I had the solution I’d apply it. But I’m trying to find solutions. Perhaps it is necessary that I lose a bit offensively?"
