Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale will be at the centre of a transfer tug-of-war in the summer, and though Inter and Real Madrid look the most serious players in the race for his signature, two other clubs are keeping an eye on his situation.

Inter were impressed with Bale in the Welshman’s two Champions League group games against the Nerazzurri and are ready to match what they believe will be Real Madrid’s opening offer of €40M.

However, AC Milan and Roma are also keeping a close watch on the situation and, even though the duo feel €40M is beyond their budget, any hint that Spurs would deal for less could bring them into the bidding.

All interested parties believe that if Harry Redknapp’s side fail to once again qualify for the Champions League then Bale could well be tempted to switch abroad. And while Spurs would be reluctant to lose their emerging star, selling him to a club outside the Premier League would be the most pain free way to ensure the loss of money from involvement in Europe’s showpiece tournament is compensated for.
