Bayern Munich are eyeing an audacious summer raid on Barcelona for Seydou Keita. Reports from Spain suggest the Allianz Arena giants have sounded out Barcelona over the possibility of signing Keita and have not been put off bidding for the 31-year-old.

The German club believe that after the departure of Mark van Bommel to AC Milan they will need to add to their midfield department this summer and even though Luiz Gustavo was brought in from Hoffenheim, he is seen very much as a long term option. Keita could slot straight in at Bayern and immediately perform at Champions League level with aplomb.

A Mali international, Keita joined Barcelona in 2008, making the move from rival La Liga side Sevilla. Were the Camp Nou club to allow him to leave they would be looking for a fee of around €12M from Bayern.
