Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has promised that his side will play attacking football when they meet AC Milan in the Champions League Round of 16 tonight.

Spurs travel to the San Siro for the first leg of what looks a mouth-watering tie, and one that is expected to contain more than a few goals – especially following Redknapp’s comments.

"We have to play in our nature", said Redknapp when questioned over whether he might adopt a slightly more defensive approach now that the Champions League is in its knockout stage.

"It’s hard to change their [players’] approach. I cannot ask attacking players to play defensively. I do what I can to get the best from my players. I cannot ask Aaron Lennon to play defensively or Nico Kranjcar. They are not suited to that and I don’t want to lose their strengths."

Redknapp also said he was confident that "we’re able to score here" when casting his eye over the San Siro playing surface.
