Manchester United have been linked with a move for Toulouse left back-cum-left winger Franck Tabanou as they consider what life without Patrice Evra would look like.
While United do not expect to lose Evra, every eventuality must be planned for at the Old Trafford club and Sir Alex Ferguson has paid close attention to the progress of Tabanou.
The 22-year-old has become a mainstay of the Toulouse side since breaking through from the club’s youth ranks into the senior side in 2009. Appearances for France’s Under-20 and 21 teams followed and it is only considered a matter of time until Tabanou wins his first "proper" France cap.
Toulouse would surely fight hard to keep hold of their youth product, but in the face of interest from United might find it difficult to turn down a big-money bid.
