Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger stoked the fires ahead of this evening’s clash with Barcelona in the Champions League by explaining his side are in perfect shape to face the Catalans.

The pick of the Champions League ties sees a repeat of the knockout tie between the two last season, but Wenger is sure that this match has come at just the right time.

"The only thing I can say is that we are in an ideal condition to face them", said Wenger.

"We cannot complain. We have the belief, the confidence and the players available. We are 90 per cent in February and that was not the case last year. I feel we are in an ideal position to face them."

With the second leg due to be played at the Camp Nou, the Gunners will know they need a good lead and, probably, a clean sheet, to take to Barcelona.
