Reports from Germany suggest that Manchester United are paying close attention to Borussia Dortmund forward Kevin Grosskreutz as they look to boost their squad in the summer.

The 22-year-old has been an impressive part of Dortmund’s superb Bundesliga campaign this season and also broke through into the senior Germany side, winning his first cap in a friendly against Malta in May last year. That was followed up with an appearance against Sweden in November, further proof that Grosskreutz is seen as a rising star of the national team.

Under contract with Dortmund until 2014, and a lifelong fan of the Ruhr club, Grosskreutz would cost United a minimum of €20M, a figure they may find too high. Dortmund would undoubtedly like to keep hold of their impressive young forward however.
