Juventus are looking closely at Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago for next season according to reports from Italy.

The Old Lady expect Mohamed Sissoko to depart in the summer and are drawing up a list of players who can boost their midfield options – and Tuttosport report that Gago’s name features highly on that list.

The Argentine has struggled to impose himself under Jose Mourinho at Los Blancos and there is every chance his Spanish side would listen to offers for the 24-year-old. Indeed, Real Madrid came close to selling Gago to Manchester City last summer, only for the move to subsequently fall apart.

Juventus believe that Gago could take the opportunity to relaunch his career in Turin and the Old Lady would be the beneficiaries of a hungry player with something to prove.
