AEK Athens have their eyes on securing a real coup in the summer by tempting French striker Frederic Kanoute to Greece.
Kanoute may well be available to move on from current side Sevilla at the season’s end, and a move to Athens could well appeal. It is believed that AEK are ready to send an offer of €2M to Spain in the hope of persuading Kanoute’s La Liga side to cash in.
At 33 years old, the striker could enjoy a final, lucrative swansong in Greek football, although if a fee of €2M is all it takes to bag the goalscorer then there will no doubt be other sides prepared to enter the fray.
