Lyon coach Claude Puel could quit the Stade Gerland at the end of the current season. Puel’s side suffered a terrible start to the campaign, leading to calls for President Jean-Michel Aulas to wield the axe.

Aulas though stayed loyal, and Puel plotted a route to the last 16 of the Champions League, while going on a four-month unbeaten Ligue 1 run which has put the seven times champions back in title contention.

However, it seems that for Puel, this season may have caused him to have his fill of Lyon.

Asked by the French press whether he could leave Les Gones at the end of the current campaign, Puel replied: "I have not decided yet, but there is that possibility."

Should Puel decide to leave Lyon there is no doubt his skills will be in demand. A proven coach in Ligue 1, the 49-year-old would likely have his pick of sides domestically, while offers from abroad are also sure to arrive.
