Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has written off Chelsea’s chances of winning this season’s Premier League title, insisting he cannot see beyond either Arsenal or his own side in the trophy chase.

Chelsea stand a mammoth 12 points behind United and 11 behind Arsenal, although the Blues must still meet Ferguson’s side twice, the first battle coming next Tuesday.

"Normally two teams break away when you come to the end of the season, that’s the way it’s looking", said the United boss, adding: "I think either ourselves or Arsenal will win it."

While Chelsea hold an outside chance of the title, with defender John Terry placing hope in the possibility of United slipping up, defeat to their rivals on Tuesday would surely be the final nail in the coffin of the Stamford Bridge side’s slim hopes.
