Stevan Jovetic’s agent has confirmed that last season Liverpool enquired about his client, but a move from Fiorentina did not materialise, because the forward wanted to remain in Florence. Fali Ramadani also added that he is unsure whether the Premier League side will return.
"I can confirm that last season Liverpool asked about Stevan, but the deal did not come off, partly because the player wanted to stay in Florence", admitted Ramadani, adding: "I do not know if the interest is still alive. I have not heard from anyone from England."
And Jovetic, who suffered a serious knee injury in pre-season, which has ruled him out of most of the current campaign, is keen to get back on the pitch and focus on helping La Viola.
"This week he’ll have his final medical check-ups in Germany and then he will be available to [Sinisa] Mihajlovic. He may return to play in the first week of April."
