In-demand Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg has admitted that this season could well be his last at the Eredivisie giants.

The Dutch shot-stopper is a target for Arsenal as well as AC Milan and Juventus, with the trio expected to battle for his signature at the end of the current campaign.

Where Stekelenburg’s preferred destination is remains unknown, but the 29-year-old will consider anything he judges to be an important opportunity.

"I still have another year on my contract", said the Ajax man, "but if an important opportunity comes up I’ll take the chance to leave."

Ajax are, understandably, keen to ensure they receive an appropriate fee for the Holland international and the figure being mooted in Amsterdam is €12M. Such an amount would not pose a problem for any of the interested parties and Stekelenburg could represent the bargain of the summer market.
