Brazil star Neymar, who scored both goals in the country’s 2-0 downing of Scotland in a friendly at the Emirates Stadium yesterday has revealed that when he makes the switch to European club football he would like to move to Italy.
The 19-year-old is hot property at present and can reel off a who’s who of European clubs that are interested in his services. Of late Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter, Juventus and Manchester City have all been linked with a move for the forward.
Widely considered the next big thing in Brazilian football, Neymar’s signature would be a coup for any team.
However, according to the youngster himself, Serie A sides may well be given slight preference when it comes to moving from current club Santos.
"My goal is Italy, but actually playing in Europe anyway", said Neymar to Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Like everyone, I would like to play in Serie A, even though I am happy at Santos."
The news is sure to excite Italy’s biggest clubs as they look to tempt the starlet to Serie A ahead of the Premier League and La Liga.
