Having failed to buy Giuseppe Rossi from Villarreal in the January transfer window, despite bidding €33M, Tottenham Hotspur have now switched their attention to Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo.

The former Real Madrid youth teamer is under contract with Sevilla until 2014 and has attracted interest from English clubs previously.

Now, according to Spanish daily AS, Spurs are prepared to make a bid for the 25-year-old in the summer as they look to refresh their attacking options.

Sevilla, who have previously rejected interest from the likes of Juventus, Inter, Palermo and Genoa in Negredo, will demand a fee of at least €18M for their striker.

This season Negredo has once again been amongst the goals for Sevilla and is well on the way to beating the 11 La Liga goals he scored last season. So far, the Sevilla man has notched 10 from 26 games, compared to 11 from 35 in the 2009/10 campaign.
